Breaking: IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu Finally Arrested

  The Federal Government has arrested the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), who made the disclosure to journalists on Tuesday, revealed that Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday. Miyetti Allah Vows to Continue to Cut-Off South West From Cattle, Foodstuff Supply

Coordinator of the Kwara State chapter of Miyetti Allah Association of Cattle Breeders, Aliyu Mohammed, has said that the blockade of cattle and foodstuffs to the South West through Kwara State will continue until the safety of Fulani is guaranteed in the region. Mohammed speaking to newsmen after a crucial meeting of the association in Ilorin on Sunday, said the action is a warning shot to ensure a peaceful operation of businesses by the Fulani and to end the harassment of the tribe in the south. He also said not all Fulani are criminals, adding “Just as you have in any society where there are good and bad people.” Mohammed insisted that “It is not only Fulanis that commit crimes in the country, but it was sad that everything happening now is heaped on Fulani herdsmen.” The coordinator said the association was ready to fish out the bad eggs in their midst. Falana Faults Sunday Igboho’s Eviction Notice to Fulani Herdsmen, Says its illegal

  Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has attacked Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho for issuing quit notice to Fulani herdsmen in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, saying such act was illegal and unlawful. Falana, in an interview with BBC, on Wednesday, said even a squatter could not be ejected and that is why on a daily basis, tenants were given quit notices by landlords or owners of properties. According to him, a private citizen could not just wake up and say anybody should leave the community, as the rule of law must be embraced. “Nobody can do that, not even the government because section 43 of the constitution says every citizen shall have the right to own and acquire properties in any parts of the country,” he said. Rapist Gets 25 Years Imprisonment For Defiling 13-Year-Old Girl

  The Sexual Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos has sentenced a rapist, Nura Asumoge to 25 years imprisonment for defiling a 13-year old girl. The judgment was delivered on Thursday by Hon. Justice A.O. Soladoye sitting at the Sexual Offences Court, Ikeja in the case of The State of Lagos vs Nura Asumoge ID/8124c/2018. The Defendant was convicted for defiling a 13-year-old girl on 3rd of April 2018 and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. The court ordered that the name of the Convict be entered into Sexual Offenders Register in the State. The Offence of defilement is contrary to section 137 of the Criminal of Lagos State.

Police rescue 5 babies from Anambra baby factory

  The Police Command in Anambra said it has uncovered a ‘baby factory’ where young girls are being impregnated and their babies sold by human traffickers. Chief Superintendent of Police Haruna Mohammed, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Awka, said 10 suspects were arrested and five newborn babies rescued. According to him, three other children have been rescued in a coordinated raid led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Afolabi Wilfred, Oraifite Area Commander at Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state. “On Jan. 26, at about 7 a.m., following an intelligence report, police operatives attached to the SIB and Area Command, Oraifite, coordinated by the Area Commander, ACP Afolabi Wilfred raided the house. “The house which belonged to one Melvina Uju Uba is located opposite Nnamdi Azikiwe Orthopedic Teaching Hospital, Oba, in Idemili South LGA of Anambra state,” he said.
