Breaking: Osun APC Deputy Chairman, 6,208 Supporters Defect To ADP

The Deputy Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in Osun State, Azeez Adesiji, on Monday led eight members of the State Working Committee of the party and 6,200 members of the party at local government and ward levels to join the Action Democratic Party. The APC leaders and their followers were received by the chairman of the ADP, Toye Akinola, at the secretariat of the party in Osogbo amidst jubilation. Adesiji alleged that the mass defection was caused by “nepotism, impunity and unconcerned attitude” of the decision makers in APC and also by the state government towards the citizens of the state, among other reasons. The immediate past Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progresives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has accused the presidency and the leadership of the APC of a plot to induce its Senators, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly members with humongous cash to impeach the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara. Mass Defection: Buhari Is The Real Problem In APC, Says Party’s Presidential Aspirant

By Josephine Ella-Ejeh A presidential  aspirant of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. SKC Ogbonnia has blamed the present crisis rocking the ruling party on the National Party Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s  stand of taking sides on who becomes the Presidential flag bearer of the party. The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has tendered his resignation to the party leadership. He said that he could not continue to function as spokesman of a party whose expectations of the role was incompatible with his personal principles. Three INEC Officers In Prison Over N179.8m Fraud

By Josephine Ella-Ejeh Three officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ogun state, have been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegation of money laundering to the tune of N179.8 million. Yemi Akinwonmi, Dickson Atiba and Ogunmodede Oladayo were arraigned on Monday before Justice Sule Hassan of a Federal High Court, Lagos, over on eight counts bordering on conspiracy, benefiting from crime proceeds, receiving cash sums without going through financial institutions and accepting cash exceeding amount authorised by the law. The trio allegedly received the said money from various commercial banks sometime in March 2015, in the build-up to the year’s General Elections, the offences which   contravenes the provisions of Sections 15(2)(d), 16 (d) 1(a), 16 (1) (d),16 (d) and 18 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 as amended. Breaking: Imo Deputy Governor Impeached

By Josephine Ella-Ejeh The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, has been impeached. Channels Television reports that Madumere was impeached by 19 of the 37 members of the Imo House of Assembly. The Assembly had earlier received a report by a panel set up by the state chief judge which allegedly indicted the deputy governor of gross misconduct. Madumere has been having a political tussle  with Governor Rochas Okorocha over who succeeds him in 2019. While he  seeks to succeed Okorocha, the governor is said to be  supporting his son-in-law. The crisis, it would seem, assumed a more worrisome dimension during the APC local and state congresses in the state with Mr Okorocha and his deputy supporting separate factions. Three Abducted APC Chieftains Rescued In Rivers

By Josephine Ella-Ejeh Three Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who were kidnapped  last Saturday along Elele-Omoku road in Rivers, have  been rescued from their abductors. Mr John Enebeli, Mr Austin Enebeli and Mr Afam Oniyan, according to a statement by  APC  Publicity Secretary in Rivers,Mr  Chris Finebone, in Port Harcourt regained their freedom on Wednesday,  following prompt intervention of  security operatives. Finebone said the trio are presently undergoing medical  check up. “We thank the leadership of the party under Mr Chibuike Amaechi, Minister of Transportation and security agencies for their timely intervention in various capacities that facilitated the safe release of the three gentlemen,” he said.

Breaking: Ortom Finally Decamps To PDP

Josephine Ella-Ejeh Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has finally decamped from the  All Progressives Congress(APC) to  the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). Ortom made the announcement on Wednesday which was confirmed by his spokesperson,Terver Akase. Confirming the story  to PREMIUM TIMES, Akase said:“Yes, he has defected from APC to PDP.” Governor Ortom had since been expected to dump APC, following an ‘alleged red’ card given to him by an APC stakeholder in his state.
