A presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. SKC Ogbonnia has blamed the present crisis rocking the ruling party on the National Party Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s stand of taking sides on who becomes the Presidential flag bearer of the party.
In a statement , Ogbonnia who also accused the Comrade Chairman of fomenting troubles capable of disintegrating the party said he lacked the intellectual capacity to deliver the party in 2019 polls.
Describing Oshiomhole as “a belligerent, gabby, shambolic cum egocentric character understandably desperate for attention since leaving office as Edo governor, ” Ogbonnia said Oshimhole was becoming an embarrassment to the party, especially on his out bursts on party members and aspirants with contrary views to President Mohammadu Buhari who according to him is the problem in APC.
He wondered why Oshimhole should take sides with President Buhari instead of being a father to all aspirants in the party, adding, he should realise that “President Muhammadu Buhari no longer has what it takes to lead a 21st Century Nigeria and must not be the nominee of our great party in the 2019 presidential election.”
“Nominating Buhari over SKC Ogbonnia can bring PDP back to power and, by consequence, worse than the annulment of the June 12 election. President Buhari is the real problem in APC; his second term bid is ill-advised and central to the crisis rocking the party. Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole was elected chairman for all APC members, not an emperor for the inordinate ambition of
President Buhari for second term in office “Oshiomhole’s war with other APC presidential aspirants, besides Buhari, negates a principal vision of the APC to promote rule of law and internal party democracy.
“Oshiomhole’s leadership style since assuming office, typified by a pattern of reckless utterances and intimidation, is an embarrassing failure which, of course, hastened the mass exodus of members to the opposition ranks,” said the APC presidential aspirant.
