The police on Thursday arraigned a 32- year-old fake pastor for allegedly raping a woman in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court. The accused, Micheal Akpan, who resides at 17, Unity Close, Obawole, Iju, a suburb of Lagos is charged with one-count of rape. The Prosecutor, Insp Raji Akeem told the court that the offence was committed on Aug. 17 at the accused’s residence. Raji said that the accused pretended to be a pastor and told the complainant, a 29- year -old, who was on her way to work, that he had powers to deliver her from satanic oppression. He told the court that the accused told the complainant to buy seven bottles of olive oil for cleansing and also told her to meet him in his house later that day. A nine-year-old Buddhist novice has died after a beating by a Thai monk who allegedly battered him with a stick and slammed his head against a pillar, officials said Friday. Monk Suphachai Suthiyano, 64, flew into a rage during a prayer session last weekend when the young disciple disrupted the ceremony with his “playful” behaviour. The monk allegedly assaulted Wattanapol Sisawad with a bamboo stick at the temple in Kanchanaburi, two hours west of Bangkok, striking him on his back several times before bashing his head into a pillar. The child fell into a coma and passed away late Thursday, a hospital worker at Kanchanaburi provincial hospital told AFP on Friday, requesting anonymity. A three-year kindergartener died after she was left behind in a hot school van in Thailand, police said Thursday after arresting the driver. The girl was discovered Wednesday afternoon after her mother went to pick her up at the end of school in the southern province of Pattani and was told the child was absent. The mother and a teacher located the driver, who led them to the locked van where they found the body. “The girl’s body was pale, no wounds, with a little blood stain at her nose,” Montri Kongwatmai, commander of the Sai Buri district police, told AFP. “She must have thrashed around.” The heat inside the stuffy van and a lack of air caused her death, Montri said, citing the autopsy results. A woman who was nicknamed the "real life china doll", because of how fragile she was, has died four years after defying the odds to marry the love of her life. Rebecca Dinsdale, 35, died suddenly on a ferry from Liverpool to Northern Ireland and tributes have been pouring in from everyone who knew her.   Four years ago, when Rebecca was 31, she left her wheelchair behind and walked down the aisle towards her groom Norman. An Indian woman who bit off a chunk of her husband’s penis when he caught her with another man has been charged with attempted murder, police said Friday. The 45-year-old Jayanthi, who uses only one name, had gone out with her farmer husband to watch a play in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore district Monday, but snuck away to meet her lover, police official Prakash Babu told AFP. When she had not returned after more than an hour, the husband went to look for her.“He found her in close contact with her lover. A scuffle followed during which the dhoti tunic that the man was wearing fell off. She bit off a part of his penis before running away with her lover,” Babu said. Three of  the five men, who are in their late 20s and early 40s, were arrested in Chitwan district in south-central Nepal while  one was arrested  in the capital Kathmandu and the other neighbouring Rasuwa district, a deputy superintendent of police in Chitwan  Prabhu Dhakal . “The smugglers made the victims undergo medical tests in Kathmandu and sent them to India for transplant,” Dhakal said. The body of a newborn baby was discovered on a local flight in India on Wednesday, the police have revealed. The baby appeared to have been delivered on board in the toilet and had toilet paper stuffed in its mouth, reports NDTV. Police suspected that the mother is an underage girl on the flight. She has been detained by the police after all the female passengers on board the plane were questioned. The police are investigating if the baby was stillborn or had been born alive. In a statement released by the airline, AirAsia, “the matter has been reported to DGCA and the airline’s staff are attending to other guests and cooperating with Delhi Police.
