Fake Medical Doctor Finally Meets His Waterloo

Nemesis has caught up with one Salisu Usman, a security guard who have been posing as a medical doctor, as the police have trailed and arrested him.

Usman has been treating unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of a professional medical doctor until recently when he met his water loo.

The police revealed how he treated, dispensed, supplied, administered and sold poisonous and dangerous drugs to unsuspecting patients.

While appearing before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday, the resident of Oluwalogbo, Isefun community in Ayobo, near Lagos, confessed that he had been treating patients, posing as a qualified medical doctor.

“I am as guilty as charged,” Usman, 28, told the court presided by Magistrate Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, who ordered his remand at the Kirikiri Prisons until July 20, 2018 for a review of facts and sentencing.

Usman who was arrested on July 6, 2018 at Baden Junction in Ayobo, was found with a bag containing medical and surgical facilities without being a qualified medical practitioner.

“The defendant, who parades himself as a medical doctor treats, dispenses, supplies, administers and sells poisonous and dangerous drugs to patients.

“He was found with different types of tablets, syringes, needles, injections and other medical items. But when he was asked to present his certificate or identity card, he could not.

“He confessed that he was not a genuine doctor and he was therefore, taken to the police station, “ said police prosecutor, ASP. Ezekiel Ayorinde.

Ayorinde said the offence contravenes Section 251(e) (f) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which prescribes two years imprisonment for offenders.

Gunmen invade Edo community, kill 3, abduct 13 children, women

Heavily-armed gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have reportedly invaded Emokpae community, in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, where they killed three persons.
