Hours after security operatives comprising the Police, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) and the Department of State Services(DSS) laid siege in the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki's house, the leader of the Senate has regained freedom.
Earlier this morning, Saraki's house was barricaded by the police from leaving his house, a development which was alleged to be a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris.
However, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has in a swift response said it is not aware on the siege laid on the residence of the President of the senate, Bukola Saraki by security agencies.
The force spokesman, DCP Jimoh Moshood said he is not aware of the development.
"Iam not aware. You are just informing me,” he told Daily Trust reporter on the phone.
DCP Moshood said the last communication with Dr Saraki was the letter asking Saraki to make himself physically available to interrogators at 8am today.
Policemen had in the morning blocked the convoy of the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki at Lake Chad Junction, Maitama, Abuja.
The development preceded an invitation letter to Saraki on Monday asking him to appear before investigators in Abuja where he is expected to answer questions in the case of Offa bank robbery and murder of more than 31 persons, including the snatching of 21 AK 47 Riles on 5th of April 2018.
Meanwhile reacting to the invitation Saraki said it was a mere afterthought which is designed to achieve political goals.
