Police Nab Four Suspected Kidnappers

Four suspected kidnappers were arrested on Saturday and 16 locally made guns and five cutlasses recovered in Gusau and Shinkafi Local Government Areas of the state.

The Police command in Zamfara disclosed this in a statement which said the suspects were arrested on July 19, 2018 by the joint operations patrol of the IGP Special Tactical Squadin conjunction with the command’s tactical teams at various criminal hide-outs in Zawuyya, Badarawa and Birnin-yero Villages in Gusau and Shinkafi local government areas respectively.

“The suspects arrested were alleged to be engaged in various criminal activities such as kidnapping, armed robbery and culpable homicide, among others," Superintendent Muhammad Shehu, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command said this in the statement in Gusau.

Ooni Dismiss Rumours of Resurgence of Ife-Modakeke War

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has rubbished the reports that farmers killed in Toro village, Modakeke is a renewed crisis between Modakeke and Ife. Ooni described the killing in Modakeke as sheer criminality. "What happened at Toro village was sheer criminality and the long hand of the law would soon catch up with the perpetrators,” Ooni stated. He noted that attachment of communal coloration to the killing is an attempt by mischief makers to derail security operatives who are on top of the matter. Offa Robbery: Saraki Still Have Questions To Answer As Police Invites Him Again
