SDP, PDP Meet To Overthrow Buhari’s 'Heartless, Incompetent' Govt

By Josephine Ella-Ejeh

The Social Democratic Party (SDP)  on Wednesday,  reiterated  the readiness to synergize with the
Peoples Democratic (PDP) and other political parties to set Nigerians free from the shackles of the ‘heartless and incompetent’ President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party,  Princess Golba affirmed this when she paid a courtesy call to her PDP counterpart,  Mr. Kola Ologbandiyan at the national secretariat of the former ruling party in Abuja.

She said her visit  to the  PDP secretariat  was to identify with and commend the party for the great job it was doing in giving voice to alternative views which the APC government would rather muffle.

“We came here to show our appreciation for the professional way you have been speaking for the majority of millions of Nigerians who have been suffering under the yoke of the incompetence and heartlessness tint that have characterized the President Buhari administration since 2015,” Goldba said.

As the name of the party connotes,  the National Publicity Secretary of the SDP noted   that    members of the party are social democrat with “an ideological inclination that supports economic and social development that promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and capitalist economy.”

She said it was good that the party and the SDP  shares values and similar perspectives on many critical national issues, as according to her,  “this presents opportunities for working together which our leaderships are already doing.

Working together, we can uproot the common obstacle holding down national growth and development for our traumatized people and nation.”

She added that the management of information is critical to the achievement of the party's  main goal which is to unseat "the current incompetent and uncaring government at the 2019 elections. My visit today is to let you know that our doors are open for cooperation and working together to further the MoU between our parties.”

While responding, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbandiyan thanked the SDP National Publicity Secretary for the visit.

Ologbandiya said the PDP is more prepared to actualise the M.O.U, as according to him, “it is not just cosmetic.”

“I find your visit very welcoming to challenge the Buhari administration which is filled with so much bloodletting and killings.  Abuja- Kaduna road is now a nightmare, people are losing their lives with carless abandon.  The president is not bothered," said PDP National Publicity Secretary.

He said the Buhari government   has failed Nigeria economically, security wise and in the area of corruption which he is only paying lips service to.

He  said since the APC government has failed in its entirety, a lot of people are defecting from the party to   identify with the PDP with the most recent defection Wednesday afternoon   of the Benue State  governor, Samuel Ortom.

Citing the minister  of Finance  who despite being fingered in  her NYSC  certificate scandal,  is allowed  to  stay in office,  Ologbandiya  said: “ this is because  Buhari’s  body language is pretentious and  support  corruption,”  calling for the immediate  dismissal of the minister.
