Three Jobless Men In Kirikiri Prison For Robbing Woman At Gunpoint

Three unemployed men are presently cooling-off their feets in Kirikiri Prisons for allegedly robbing a woman at gun point.

Righteous Ejiaru, 24; Sadiq Raheem, 21, and Opeyemi Hassan, 20 were remanded in the prison on Friday on the orders of an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court .

The court, presided by Chief Magistrate Mr A.A. Fashola, who gave the ruling, said the three men should be kept behind bars, pending an advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The trio are facing a two-count charge of robbery and conspiracy, following the robbery of an unidentified woman.

According to the Police, the suspected conspired and robbed the unidentified woman in question at gun point.

Seargent Michael Unah, prosecuting for the police, told court that the three men committed the offences on April 24, 2018 at 6.00 a. m. at Amuwo Odofin in Festac Town, Lagos.

“The accused were caught by a mob that reported the case at a police station,” Unah said, adding, the offences contravene Sections 297 (2) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Section 297 prescribes 21 years jail term for robbery, while Section 411 stipulates two years imprisonment for conspiracy.

The case has been adjourned the case until August 13, 2018.

Gunmen invade Edo community, kill 3, abduct 13 children, women

Heavily-armed gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have reportedly invaded Emokpae community, in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, where they killed three persons.
