Bayelsa Governor’s Mother Dies Of Cancer

Bayelsa State Governor,  Seriake Dickson has lost his mother Mrs. GoldCoast Dickson  to cancer at 72.
Dickson who confirmed the incident  in a statement on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Francis Ottah-Agbo, said the late GoldCoast died of cancer at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas, United States, where she had been receiving treatment.
The governor expressed appreciation to the hospital, “especially the team of medical professionals who did their best” to save the life of his mother and  family members, friends, political associates and Nigerians generally for their prayers and support in the most trying times for the Dickson’s family.
Until her death, Madam GoldCoast was “a quintessential mother, a devout Christian and community leader who devoted her lifetime to the service of God and humanity,” said the statement  which revealed  that condolence registers have been opened variously in Government House, Yenagoa, the governor’s residences in Opolo, Yenagoa and Toru-Orua community in Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State Liaison Office in Abuja and Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
The statement also revealed that funeral details will be announced by the family at a later date.

Ooni Dismiss Rumours of Resurgence of Ife-Modakeke War

  The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has rubbished the reports that farmers killed in Toro village, Modakeke is a renewed crisis between Modakeke and Ife. Ooni described the killing in Modakeke as sheer criminality. "What happened at Toro village was sheer criminality and the long hand of the law would soon catch up with the perpetrators,” Ooni stated. He noted that attachment of communal coloration to the killing is an attempt by mischief makers to derail security operatives who are on top of the matter. Offa Robbery: Saraki Still Have Questions To Answer As Police Invites Him Again
