Osinbajo Orders Arrest Of Former DSS Boss, Ita Ekpenyong

Former Director-General of the Department of State Services(DSS), Ita Ekpenyong has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).

The EFCC operatives were said to have picked Ekpenyong up on Thursday at 46 Maman Nasir Street, Asokoro, Abuja, allegedly on the directive of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

This development is coming barely 10 months after the DSS under the leadership of the sacked DG, Lawal Daura, prevented EFCC men from searching or arresting Ekpenyong despite a court order.

It was gathered that the operatives who stormed the address in three buses and some patrol vehicles accompanied by over 20 armed policemen, carried out thorough search on the mansion for over two hours before leaving at 3.20pm.

However, no cash was recovered from the house.

Punch quoted sources as saying, the acting president Osinbajo ordered the raid following a meeting with the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, and the new DSS boss, Matthew Seyifa on Wednesday.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has rubbished the reports that farmers killed in Toro village, Modakeke is a renewed crisis between Modakeke and Ife.
