 ….As family announces burial arrangements

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has extolled the Late Pa Jerome Abalike Ella, father of his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Water Resources, Engr. Ejembi Ella, and his indelible legacies.

This is coming as the family announces the burial arrangements for the deceased whose death occurred last month, December 27, 2022.

Ortom described  the deceased  as a renowned community leader who was humble, hardworking and dedicated his life to the service of God and humanity until his demise.

In a condolence letter on behalf of his family, the government and people of Benue State to the SSA, a copy of which Humanity Watch obtained, the governor stated that the transition of Pa Jerome at a time his wise counsel was most needed, has created a vacuum in the family that will be difficult to fill.

The governor however, urged the SSA on Water Resources who is also the immediate past General Manger of Benue Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (BERWASSA), to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a fulfilled life and used the opportunity he had to impact on several generations.

“As the oldest man in Ogene community of Okpokwu Local Government area, he contributed enormously to foster peace and unity between his community and their neighbors. His sterling qualities and deep sense of character impacted positively on the lives of his children and several others under his tutelage,”Ortom stated in the condolence letter.

“He has also produced responsible children like you who are making useful contributions to the development of the state. Here in lies our justification for celebrating the life and times of this patriarch,” he added.

The governor prayed that God grant him, the family and the rest of the member of his community the fortitude to bear the irrespirable loss and grant the deceased eternal rest.

Meanwhile according to the burial arrangement announced by the family, the wake keep for the deceased will take place at his residence, Abalike Ella’s compound, Ogene-Amejo, Edumoga District, Okpokwu LGA, Benue State on Thursday, 9 February 2023 by 5.pm.

Pa Jerome  will be laid to rest on Friday, 10 February 2023 at his home in Ogene-Amejo after a burial service slated for 10.am.
